Push for aid into Sudan: Aid shortage forces people to build temporary homes

Sudanese families, displaced by violence that has killed thousands and displaced millions, are building temporary homes from mud and clay. They hope for peace to return, but with the ongoing conflict between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, many see no end in sight. The UN warns of acute hunger affecting 25 million people, with famine confirmed in Northern Darfur. Al Fasher remains a key battleground, and aid delivery is severely hindered by security challenges. The situation in Sudan has reached a "catastrophic breaking point."
As the US pushes for a ceasefire deal in Gaza – it is also trying to end the 16-month conflict in Sudan.
The US special envoy has held talks with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces in Geneva.
Now he's heading to Cairo to meet army representatives.
