In eastern Myanmar, drones are now central to the conflict as both military and rebel fighters rely on them for attacks. Advanced military drones, used for mortar and artillery strikes, often surpass the jamming capabilities of rebel fighters. The conflict, which began after the 2021 coup, has displaced over 3.5 million people, including more than 130,000 in Kayah state. Civilians face repeated displacements, losing their homes, livelihoods, and access to basic necessities, as the war continues to devastate lives.
