Kamala Harris was pressed by her interviewers at a National Association of Black Journalists event about what specific changes she would make to US policy on Israel and its war in Gaza. Washington has supplied many of the bombs used in Israel’s assault on the enclave, but recently blocked a shipment of 2,000lb munitions blamed for strikes that have killed scores of people in Gaza, which Harris said she supported.
